For ten years Galit Haviv-Thomas and Rebecca Harris worked as senior family psychotherapists within the Addictions Directorate of a large central London NHS Trust. They witnessed the often devastating effects of current or past substance misuse on relationships, and they worked alongside families to repair trust and redefine roles. Galit and Rebecca have a particular understanding of the challenges faced by those trapped in addiction and their partners, parents, children and loved ones.
In recent years the rise in internet use has begun to cause problems for families who had not previously experienced difficulties of this kind. Behavioural addictions such as internet gaming, pornography and online shopping are becoming ever more prevalent. Galit and Rebecca were amongst the first systemic family therapists in London to address these emerging addictions.
Galit and Rebecca formed the London Family Therapy Partnership to allow them help those trapped in addiction and their families face the challenges of addiction, of whatever form.
